Pancake Brunch Set For Sunday
A Villenova Grange pancake brunch to benefit the food pantry will be held Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Balcom Corners, Routes 83 and 322, South Dayton. Those who bring a donation will receive a half-price meal. The regular price is $7. Call 988-3819 for more information.
Society To Meet
RANDOLPH – The Randolph Historical Society will meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the municipal building. Eric Brown will speak on the history and current day events of the Cardinal Hills Golf Course. Programs this spring are mainly focusing on long-established Randolph businesses which are still flourishing today. The public is invited to attend.
Salamanca BPU To Meet Tuesday
SALAMANCA – The Salamanca Board of Public Utilities board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Salamanca municipal building conference room. The public is welcome to attend.
Winter Coats Now Accepted
Winter coats and jackets will be free now through the end of March at St. James Thrift Store, 141 Institute St. Other clothing will still be available at the regular price of $2 a bag. There is a supply of ladies’ extra large sizes, and the men’s department has a fine selection of sports jackets, slacks and shirts, along with other accessories. RSVP volunteers are on hand to help. Regular hours are every Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations are accepted during those hours. If donations need to be dropped off outside of regular hours, the side enclosed porch should be used. The thrift store will be closed on Wednesday, March 27, and Friday, March 29, in observance of Easter.
Soup Supper Set For Thursday
St. Elia Orthodox Church, 103 Palmer St., Jamestown, will sponsor a soup and salad supper from 4-7 p.m., or until sold out, on Thursday. The menu includes a choice of homemade tomato or beef vegetable soup, salad, crackers, dessert, soda, coffee or tea. The cost is a donation of $6. Tickets will be available at the door. Veteran Director To Travel
LITTLE VALLEY – The Cattaraugus County director of Veterans Services will be available outside of his office at several locations during the month of March to discuss benefit laws, health care and any other concerns veterans have. Steve McCord or Kevin Haynes, service officer, will be available at the Gowanda American Legion on Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon; at the Randolph American Legion from 10 a.m. to noon on March 13 and at The Pines in Machias from 1-4 p.m. on March 8. McCord is also available at the county office building Thursday afternoons from 1-3:30 p.m.
Hanover Lodge To Hold Dinner
