City Man Charged In Accident; Three Injured

A 32-year-old woman and two adolescent passengers, ages 9 and 10, were taken to WCA Hospital following a two-vehicle accident Thursday.

Around 5 p.m. Jamestown police responded to the intersection of Woodworth and McDaniel avenues for a report of a personal injury motor vehicle accident.

According to police, a 2001 Ford Mustang convertible was traveling west on Woodworth Avenue struck a 2005 Ford Taurus that was traveling southbound on McDaniel Avenue after the Mustang failed to stop at the stop sign on Woodworth. When the Taurus was struck by the Mustang it continued traveling southbound on the terrace before colliding with a street sign and tree.

During the investigation it was determined that the driver of the Mustang, George Sanchez, 54, of Jamestown was allegedly at fault and was charged for operating a vehicle with inadequate brakes and for failing to stop at a stop sign.

The driver and passengers inside the Taurus were transported by Alstar to WCA hospital for treatment.

Members of the Jamestown Fire Department assisted with the incident.
