FALCONER – A Falconer resident was recently excited to learn that she had been named the artist of the month by the Falconer Public Library.
“This is a really wonderful thing for me,” said Theresa Ribaudo, the honored artist. “I started drawing as a sort of therapy when I was a teenager and it has been a hobby ever since.”
Ribaudo, a lifelong resident of Falconer, is the second of eight children born unto the late Salvatore and Jennie Ribaudo.
She is a graduate of Falconer Central School and has been interested in art and drawing her entire life. According to Ribaudo, she particularly loves to draw elaborate designs of flowers.
“If you were to visit her home, you would see the many designs and colors of her work accenting each and every room of her home,” said Sally Ribaudo Jaroszynski, sister to Theresa.
Ribaudo’s other interests include reading, knitting, doll collecting and bird watching.
Ribaudo has stated that she is honored by the recognition.
“The praise has been really great,” said Ribaudo. “Everyone has had such nice things to say about (the distinction). I feel very lucky.”
