Area Police Reports
Scott A. George, 29, was charged with being a fugitive from justice. Police on Saturday at 6:59 p.m. stopped George for not using a turn signal while entering traffic. Police learned that George was wanted out of North Dakota. He was taken into custody pending extradition out of state.
Marvin J. Colon-Dones, 21, of North Main Street, Jamestown, was charged with petit larceny. Colon-Dones on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. was allegedly observed by Wal-Mart loss prevention personnel stealing merchandise. He was detained and was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Jamestown. Colon-Dones was processed and issued appearance tickets to appear in Busti Court at a later date. He was then transported to City Jail to answer the warrant.
Kelly L. Seekings, 43, of Busti, was charged with obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. Seekings was charged following an incident at her house. She was issued an appearance ticket and will be in court at a later date.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
BROCTON – Jerry Bentham, of Route 20, Westfield, was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or higher, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an injury accident, not wearing a seat belt and following too closely. Police on Friday at 9:01 p.m. responded to a report of an accident with an injury. Bentham hit another vehicle before fleeing on foot, police said. He was located a short while later and was found to not have permission to use the vehicle he was driving, police said. Bentham was arraigned in Portland Court and committed to Chautauqua County Jail. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
WESTFIELD – Arthur J. Reid Jr., 22, of Lyons Road, Sherman, was taken into custody Friday on a bench warrant out of Westfield Court. Reid was taken into custody without incident and later sent to County Jail.
NEW YORK STATE POLICE
CLYMER – Trent Johnston, 22, of Ripley was charged Sunday with third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle. Police responded to a report of a missing van at Peek’n Peak Ski Resort. While the trooper was interviewing the resort staff, another employee observed the van in question drive south on Olde Road and pull into the parking lot near the maintenance building. Johnson was charged and transported to the Jamestown barracks, arraigned in the town of French Creek and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE
WARREN – Summer J. Bednar, 36, of Clarendon was charged at 6:50 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, with unsafe speed after an accident. The crash occurred on Route 6 at the intersection of Crescent Boulevard. Both vehicles suffered disabling damage from the crash and were towed from the scene. Neither vehicle operators were injured as a result of the crash.
