George Clever Book Signing Set For Wednesday

The Fluvanna Library will host a book signing event from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday. George Clever, a local author from Bear Lake, Stockton, will speak on writing and will promote his first book, ”Dancing With Grandfather,” a story poem book. His second book, ”Bear Lake Monster and Other Clever Stories,” which is a collection of short stories, will be published soon.

Clever earned a bachelor’s degree from Buffalo State College and a master’s from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he also did his doctoral studies. He taught at the elementary, secondary and university levels and served as Stanford University Student Affairs for Native American Programs assistant dean. He also served at Carl Sandberg College as dean of students. During his professional education career, he published mathematics education and student services articles. He is an artist and a musician. He is also a member of the United States Marine League and served as a lieutenant colonel in the New Mexico State Guard. A Native American, he is a member of the Eastern Delaware Nation, a Lenape of the Unami Clan.
