Saturday Dinner To Benefit AAUW
Emmanuel Temple Princess Club members will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday in the church, 53 W. 23 St., Jamestown. The cost is $5 per dinner. Proceeds will benefit the attendance at the American Association of University Women, Buffalo Chapter Tech Savvy 8 Workshops for girls which will be held in Mary on the University at Buffalo North Campus. Lisa Goodell To Appear On Show
MAYVILLE – Senior Report with Reed Powers will have Lisa Goodell as the guest on the Saturday television program. Goodell is the executive director for the Chautauqua Blind Association. The live, call-in program airs from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday morning. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions or comments. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities. Reed Powers, host of Senior Report, has been producing the television program since 1995. The series highlights senior citizen club news for 15 minutes with the remainder of the hour-long program devoted to the featured guest. The guest is subject to change. Senior Report is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Falconer, Forestville, Hanover, Irving, Jamestown, Lakewood and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.
TEA Party Group To Meet Tuesday
LAKEWOOD – Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots will hold its monthly general meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Lakewood American Legion, 174 Chautauqua Ave., Lakewood. Topics to be discussed will be: the broken promise of no tax increase for the middle class in the fiscal cliff deal; the national and statewide assault on the second amendment; Rand Paul’s Tea Party response to the State of the Union address; and the ominous job-killing regulatory cliff. Additionally, Dr. Ben Carson’s recent remarks on U.S. health care, and a first-hand report on the Second Amendment rally in Albany will be covered. The public is invited to attend.
Bemus Point Board To Meet
The Bemus Point Central School Board of Education will hold a special board meeting Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the board room at Maple Grove High School.
Soup Suppers Begin Wednesday
RANDOLPH – Randolph United Presbyterian Church is hosting a series of soup suppers each Wednesday during the Lenten season in the fellowship hall. A selection of soups and breads, all made by church members will be available at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Lenten Study lead by Pastor Leslie Latham. The public is welcome to attend. Following the Lenten Study, the choir will hold its weekly rehearsal at 7 p.m.
