Three Sent To Hospital Following I-86 Accident

MINA – Three people, including a 1-year-old child, were sent to the hospital Wednesday following an early morning accident on the Southern Tier Expressway involving a tractor-trailer.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Matthew McBride, 39; Esmerelda McBride, 28; and a 1-year-old, all of Monacacy Lane, Westfield, Pa., were transported to Hamot Hospital in Erie, Pa., after the pickup truck they were in collided with a parked tractor-trailer around midnight.

The Sheriff’s Office said the truck, driven by Dale Legg, 52, of Medina, Ohio, had stopped on Interstate 86 in the eastbound lane due to poor visibility. Legg was not injured in the accident.

Deputies said Matthew McBride ran into the parked tractor-trailer.
