Gun Rally Set For Saturday

A gun appreciation rally will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Frewsburg Blue Building, Station 2, Hazzard Street, Frewsburg. Guest speakers will include Andrew Goodell, New York state assemblyman; Jacqueline Chiarot, for U.S. Congressman Tom Reed; New York state Sen. Cathy Young’s representative; and Stephen Aldstadt of S.C.O.P.E. Inc. Tables will feature rod and gun clubs, shooting groups, veterans groups, trapping organizations and political action groups. Those attending are also asked to contribute a $1 donation for the Tompkins family whose home recently burned. The event is sponsored by Tami Downey, David Clement, Cheryl and Carl Fiedler, and Jim Allison.

Outdoor Club To Ski/Hike Friday

On Friday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club (AOC) will cross-country ski or hike on the West Overland Trail in Chautauqua County. Participants will meet at the trailhead, on Route 474 just west of Panama, with their lunch at 10 a.m. For more information call Pat Spicer at 814-757-8331 from 9-11 p.m. On Sunday, the AOC will hike or ski and hold its annual winter picnic at Chapman State Park. Class Of 2014 To Hold Fundraiser

The Jamestown High School class of 2014 will hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the First Presbyterian Church, 509 Prendergast Ave., Jamestown. All proceeds benefit the Child Advocacy Program, which supports victimized children in abusive situations. Tickets will be sold at the door. The cost is $5 for adults; $3 for children 12 and under. Take-out will be available. A bake sale will also be featured.
