Jeanette M. (Vincent) Northrop
Jeanette M. (Vincent) Northrop, 97, of Busti, N.Y., died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, in Gulf Coast Rehabilitation Village Cape Coral, Fla. following a brief illness.
She was born March 29, 1915, in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of George and Mabel (Arnold) Vincent. She attended a one-room school house in Frewsburg, N.Y. and Jamestown Schools.
On June 25, 1936, she married her loving husband of over 40 years Norman (Tim) Northrop who pred-ceased her in April 1977.
Jeanette was a homemaker and dedicated mother and grandmother to all. She enjoyed holidays with family and friends and en-joyed preparing the food.
She was a member of the Busti Federated Church, a dedicated life member of the Busti Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary since 1941, where she gave numerous hours of service. She liked marching with the Auxiliary in the Drum and Bugle Corps. events. Jeanette was always ready, willing and able to help out, especially at the Busti Gala Days and the famous Gala Days Fish Fry. Jeanette also looked forward to traveling with her son Robert N. (Bob) Northrop and his wife Sue who Jeanette acknowledged as a daughter.
She is survived by her son Robert N. (Sue) Northrop, her caregivers of Busti and Cape Coral, Fla.; two grandsons: Ted R. Northrop of Busti and Tyler W. Northrop of Charlotte, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by three brothers: Wilton Vincent, Clifford Vincent and her twin brother Audette Vincent.
At Jeanette’s request, there will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be scheduled and announced by the family at a later date.
