CELORON – The Jamestown Musical Association Local 134 is holding a live entertainment ballroom dance event in support of live entertainment featuring the Bemus Bay Pops Dance Band on Wednesday from 8-10 p.m. at the Celoron American Legion. The public is invited to attend.

Host Webinar

Jamestown Community College will host a live webinar Wednesday as part of the Second Nature Security and Sustainability Forum on the Findings of the National Climate Assessment. The program, which is open to the public, will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Lenna Theatre in the Hultquist Library building. The draft assessment, which was released in January by the U.S. Global Change Research Program for public review, is assembled from data provided by academic, government, non-profit and private sector experts. The assessment is prepared every four years. Several members of the National Climate Assessment and Development Advisory Committee will discuss findings from the report and answer questions from the audience. Auto Club To Meet Wednesday

The Chautauqua Lake Region Antique Automobile Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Fluvanna War Vets. Guests are welcome to attend. The club is open to anyone interested in antique and classic automobiles. For more information, call Al Oag at 483-6287.

Planning Group To Meet Tuesday

The Jamestown Planning Commission will meet at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the mayor’s fourth floor conference room in Jamestown City Hall, 200 E. Third St., Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.

Jean Donations Being Accepted

Jefferson Middle School will be collecting jeans for the homeless through the “Teens for Jeans” sponsored by Aeropostale. The school will collect gently used, but in good condition, jeans in any size from the community and students until Friday. Jefferson’s donations to Aeropostale will then given to local homeless shelters. Jefferson will be adding its own community service element by allowing certain students to choose jeans from the donations. Those students will receive an invite and have an opportunity to pick a pair of jeans before Jefferson sends them to Aeropostale.

Pistol Exemption Form Is Available

Current pistol permit holders who would like to remove their names and addresses from the public record of pistol permit holders may do so by completing an exemption form and mailing to the Pistol Permit office at 3 N. Erie St., Mayville, NY 14757. Forms are available to be downloaded at www.co.chautauqua.ny.us/departments/clerk.

Ripley Board To Meet Thursday

RIPLEY – A regular meeting of the Ripley Central School Board of Education will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m., in the cafeteria of the school, for the purpose of any and all items that come before the board.
