Second Quarter Run Leads To Win For Maple Grove Over Franklinville

FRANKLINVILLE – The second quarter turn the tide for Maple Grove in Division 3 girls basketball.

Maple Grove went on a 20-9 run in the second stanza to take a 29-15 halftime lead on the way to a 50-32 verdict over Franklinville.

The win raised Maple Grove’s record to 9-3 in the league and 11-7 overall while Franklinville dipped to 4-8 in the league and 8-10 altogether.

Lauren Nickerson led the second quarter blitz with eight points and wound up with 14 points in the first half for the Lady Red Dragons. Jordan Ahlstrom hit two of her three three-points during the decisive period.

Nickerson led Maple Grove with 17 points while Nickara Liddell and Ahlstrom checked out with nine points.

Rebounding honors went to Nickerson and Liddell with 10 apiece while Emily Swanson and Amie Adams had eight each. Ahlstrom came up with nine steals in the win.
