Randolph Girls Score 104 In Victory Over Gowanda

RANDOLPH – The century mark was reached by the Randolph girls for the first time on Thursday night.

Sparked by McKenna Maycock with 34 points, Randolph rolled over non-league Gowanda, 104-44, to win its seventh straight game and conclude its regular-season at 15-3, including 11-1 for the co-championship of Division 2 with Frewsburg.

Maycock poured in 13 points and Cierra Farmer eight during a high-scoring 37-11 first quarter. Ten more points were scored by Maycock in the second period for 23 at the halftime when the Lady Cardinals led, 64-21.

Peyton Terrette scored 12 of her 17 points and Mandy Finch added 11 of 19 points in the second half for the winners.

Maycock wound up with nine rebounds, nine assists and eight steals while Finch also had nine assists, five rebounds and two steals and Terrette had five rebounds, four steals and three assists for the Lady Cardinals.

Farmer was the fourth Randolph player in double figures with 12 points.

Jessica Sowa had eight points to pace Gowanda.

On Thursday night, Randolph hammered Division 2 foe host Cattaraugus-Little Valley, 77-23,

Maycock tallied 21 points and Terrette had a career-high 20 points, Finch and Santana France contributed 10 points each for the Lady Cardinals.

Maycock also had 13 assists, 13 rebounds and three steals while Terrette had five rebounds, two assists and two assists for Randolph.

Lori Pritchard scored six for C-LV.

CV TOPS FALCONER AGAIN

SINCLAIRVILLE – Cassadaga Valley made it three straight wins over Falconer in another tight non-league game.

The Lady Cougars had defeated Falconer by eight points and four points previously and did it by three points this time around, 35-32 to wind up the regular-season at 7-11, including 4-8 in Division 2.

Cassadaga Valley led by seven points with 2 minutes left, but Falconer got within three on Kaylee Keith’s 3-pointer with only 17 seconds left.

Falconer fouled CV with five seconds to go, but the Lady Cougars missed the foul shot and the Golden Falcons were unable to get off a good shot as the game ended.

The second half saw Cassadaga Valley rally from a 17-16 halftime deficit to pull it out with a difference of 19-15.

Jessica Burch had seven of her 12 points during the second half for the Lady Cougars. Burch also accounted for three steals while Shawana Miller grabbed 11 rebounds and four blocks and Kristi Zink had six rebounds.

Emma Steele led Falconer (1-11, 1-16) with 14 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Shannon Gunnell grabbed 12 rebounds and Alyssa Brooks 10 as the Golden Falcons controlled the boards, 43-27.
