Jamestown police investigators are seeking further information regarding a rollover accident in the city last week that left one vehicle on its side.
The accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the intersection of Fourth and Washington streets. A silver Toyota SUV heading westbound on Fourth Street collided with a black Honda heading northbound on Washington Street. The accident caused the SUV to land on its side in the intersection.
Only minor injuries were reported, police said. Both vehicles sustained significant damage.
Investigators are now turning to the public for additional information into the crash.
“Someone ran a red light, and we are trying to see which driver it was,” said Capt. Robert Samuelson of the Jamestown Police Department. “It’s not fair to the person who wasn’t violating the law.”
Samuelson said other vehicles were present at the intersection, and is hoping someone may have witnessed the crash to determine fault. “We are looking to see if anyone else on the road may have seen what happened and can provide some details,” he said.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call 483-7531.
