AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series Is Coming To Salamanca
More than 200 snowmobile riders from around the world will compete in Salamanca this month.
The AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series will appear at the grounds of Seneca Allegany Casino and Hotel from Feb. 22-24. The event, which begins at 6 p.m., will feature races that will be held during both the daytime and the evening, a festive atmosphere, food, beverages, vendors and interactive activities.
According to Pat Schutte, public relations representative for International Series of Champions, the racers participating at the AMSOIL Championship Snocross rounds at Seneca Allegany Casino are varied in their ages, backgrounds and professions.
“The younger racers are all students, many of whom strive to excel in the mathematics and engineering areas of education,” said Schutte. “Numerous racers are in college and travel on the weekends to race the AMSOIL Championship Snocross circuit. The racers beyond their school years work in a multitude of professions, from engineering to automotive and technical services. The common bond for most of the racers you’ll see is that they all live in snowbelt states and they ride and race dirt bikes and quad cycles during the summer months.”
Each day of the event will feature races categorized by skill, age, gender and type of machine. For a full schedule visit www.isocracing.com, click on National and look for “Seneca Allegany’s Air Force Snocross.”
During the course of the weekend Seneca Allegany Casino and Hotel will provide a custom menu of food and beverage for those watching the events outdoors. And, there are seven dining outlets indoors as well.
In addition to the races, guests will have the option to enjoy the “Traxxas Try Me Track,” which is an area at Seneca Allegany Casino where fans can test drive all the new Traxxas remote control vehicles.
“The test surface includes jumps and is surrounded by an inflatable barrier that allows first-time drivers to get the feel for driving a high level RC car in a specially prepared area,” said Schutte. “Fans of all ages are welcome to test the Traxxas product – free of charge.”
Jim Wise, senior vice president of marketing for the Seneca Gaming Corporation, said he is very excited for the event because it is the first time that the Seneca Allegany Casino has hosted an event such as this.
“This is brand new for us,” said Wise. “Seneca Allegany is always looking for unique events which will attract large audiences to Salamanca. Snocross is perfect as it matches an outdoor sport with the landscape around the property. And, a recent addition to the property allows snowmobiles to drive right up to our doors.”
According to Wise, the AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series delivers a high-energy winter sports activity that features the nation’s finest snowmobile racers. He believes the series has the potential to create a regional event that grows tourism and attracts the winter sports enthusiasts.
“The excitement of professional snowmobile racing located just steps away from a four-diamond resort casino and hotel creates a winning attraction that is memorable and entertaining,” said Wise. “If this is successful as we expect, AMSOIL Championship Snocross at Seneca Allegany could become an annual event, something people can plan months in advance to attend and enjoy.”
There aren’t any specific discounts to stay at the hotel for the event, but the hotel is currently featuring a special called “Stay and Play” that offers rates as low as $55 a night.
“We recently expanded our AAA Four Diamond Award-winning hotel from 212 to 413 rooms, and want to give everyone to opportunity to experience Seneca high-quality service and luxurious accommodations,” said Wise. “There’s more room now for travelers near and far to make it an extended stay at Seneca Allegany Hotel and Casino to experience everything we have to offer. From the very latest slots and table games to award-winning restaurants, an ultra-relaxing dip in our indoor pool or outdoor hot tub or a rejuvenating treatment at The Spa and Salon, world-class entertainment and our stately new hotel rooms – where else can you get 24/7/365 excitement like this in the region?”
