Barbara M. Biekert

MAYVILLE – Barbara M. Biekert, 90, formerly of Morris Street, Mayville, and the Mayville Senior Apartments, died Wednes-day (Feb. 13, 2013), at Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing.

She was born April 20, 1922, in Mayville, the daughter of the late H. Donald and Mary Persons Shearer.

Barb had been the billing clerk in the general of-fice for Kling’s Furniture in Mayville.

She was a member of the Mayville United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Stars, and the Mayville American Legion Auxiliary.

Barb enjoyed embroidering, sewing, cooking, bak-ing, and she loved her family very much.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Bonnie) Biekert of Mayville; three grandchildren: Benjamin Lawson of Mayville, Margie Nelsen of Randolph, and Paul Biekert of Baltimore, Md.; and three great- grandchildren: Devyn Nelsen, Dyetrich Silsby and Grayson Biekert.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben-jamin L. Biekert, whom she married July 6, 1949, in the Mayville United Methodist Church, and who died Aug. 30, 2010; a daughter, Debora Biekert; a sister, Caroline Ellsworth; and a brother, Gordon Shearer.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Freay Funeral Home, Mayville. The Rev. Mark Parsons of the Mayville United Methodist Church. will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
