CELORON – A three-car accident at the intersection of Hunt Road and Howard Avenue sent two to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.
Celoron and Lakewood firefighters were notified shortly before 3 p.m. of a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Hunt Road just outside the city. Police from Ellicott and Lakewood-Busti also responded to the scene, while an ambulance from the town of Busti was summoned as well.
No information on the cause of the crash or the names of those transported to the hospital was available at press-time Tuesday. According to fire and police officials on scene, no serious injuries were reported.
Tim Nelson, Celoron first assistant fire chief, said two individuals were transported – a driver of one car by Lakewood ambulance and the passenger of another by Busti – to WCA Hospital for observation. Both were extracted from separate vehicles in the three-car accident; two vehicles sustained heavy damage. A third vehicle involved appeared to have only minor damage to its front.
“Right now it only looks like we have some minor injuries, but we have no clue how this all happened,” Nelson said.
