Raiders Power Their Way To Playoff Win

The Jamestown Raiders used the powerplay to a good advantage in the second round of the playoffs in the Western New York High School Club Hockey League.

All six Jamestown goals were tallied on the powerplay as it rolled to a 6-2 win over Eden/Lakeshore, which entered the game with a 12-2-3 record out of the Blue Division, at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena.

Jamestown had earned a first-round bye and received a second seed as a result of tying City Honors for first place in the White Division with a 12-3-1 record.

Chris Conley put Eden/Lakeshore ahead, 1-0, by connecting on the first shot of the game. Rick Hasselman of Jamestown tied it eight minutes later at 1-1, but the visitors regained a 2-1 lead on a powerplay with four minutes left in the first period.

That score stayed that way until the third period when the Raiders tallied five times on the powerplay.

Justin Andriaccio scored from Billy Krywy and Collin Abbott just a minute into the finale to tie the game at 2-2.

Four minutes later the go-ahead goal was scored by Krywy on a rebound when the Raiders enjoyed a two-man advantage.

Jake Andriaccio converted a feed from Justin Andriaccio with nine minutes left to make it 4-2.

Two minutes Justin Andriaccio scored an unassisted goal to make it 5-2 and Hasselman concluded the scoring with assists by Dylan Bergman and Michael Mammoser.

The winning goalie was Tom Fales.

The Raiders play Thursday at home in the semifinals with an opponent and time to be announced.
