Born in 1914, in Jamestown, to John and Matilda Stark, she was the youngest of five children: Ruth, Mildred and Irene Kling and Robert Stark. She was mother to Cynthia I. Anderson, Susan A. Chamberlain and Charles “Phil”, deceased, (Marilyn) Anderson. She had 11 grandchildren: Marguerite C. (Andrew) Stambaugh, Kimberly S. Chamberlain, Kris A. Chamberlain, Kendra C. (Steven) Sinner, Julie C. Johnson, Marcy Anderson-(Kirk) Viers, Christopher (Lisa) Christen, Kevin R. (Jacqueline) Chamber-lain, Marcia Anderson, Steven (Jennifer) Chamberlain and Kathy (Phillip) Weston, 22 great-gran-dchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Alice raised her family with lots of love, inspiration and gentle discipline. After her three children left home, she and her husband Charles raised 14 foster babies from birth to their adoption. When her husband retired they moved to Fort Wayne, Ind., near their daughter. There Alice became a receptionist and second mother to the students at the Lutheran School of Nursing. During her tenure there three graduating classes dedicated their yearbook to her. She has been the center of her growing family and adored by all. A summer memorial picnic is being planned to celebrate her life.
