Important Home-Game Stretch Begins For JCC

An important stretch of three home games in five days begins today for the Jamestown Community College men’s and women’s basketball teams.

Each team is one game under .500 in NJCAA Region 3 Division II and they take on three Regional 3 Division II opponents this week.

Today at 5:30 p.m., the JCC women, who are 14-8 overall and 2-3 in Region 3 Division II, play host to Mercyhurst North East, which is 11-8 and 4-2.

The men’s teams play at 7:30 p.m. JCC is 11-11 and 3-4 while MNE is 10-9 and 4-2.

On Thursday, the Jayhawks teams have another doubleheader with Genesee CC at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. The Genesee women are 1-17 and 0-7 while the men are 12-12 and 3-5.

On Saturday, Erie CC arrives for another twin bill with the women’s game at 1 p.m. and the men’s contest at 3 p.m.

The Erie women are the defending Region 3 Division II champion after they defeated the Jayhawks in the title game last season. They are 14-3 and 6-0.

The Erie men are ranked 14th in the nation and are 15-3 and 6-0.
