Spaghetti Dinner Set For Feb. 9

DEWITTVILLE – The Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church, Route 430 at Meadows Road, Dewittville, will host a spaghetti-and-meatball dinner from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9. The meal also includes salad, bread, dessert and beverage. The cost is a donation of $7.

TRC To Host Workshop Feb. 7

The Living Healthy workshop will be held in The Resource Center, 880 E. Second St., Jamestown, beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7. Living Healthy is a six-week program created by Stanford University during which participants learn how to better manage their health, make decisions and solve problems that relate to chronic disease. The program is offered at no charge for participants over the age of 18 who have chronic conditions. Caregivers are also welcome to attend. Living Healthy is sponsored by the Chautauqua Integrated Delivery System, Chautauqua County Health Network and the P2 Collaborative of WNY. For more information call 338-0010 or 665-0792.

Blue Star Mothers To Meet Feb. 9

BROCTON – Lake Erie NY Chapter 4 of the Blue Star Mothers will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Brocton American Legion. Any mothers of military past or present, or anyone wanting to support troops, are welcome to attend. The group is looking for deployed addresses for its Easter care package collections and donations for packages from the community. Anyone who has a family member or friend who will be deployed or serving overseas and not able to be home with their families this Easter can have the soldier’s name added to the list. Legion To Host Sunday Breakfast

LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood American Legion will host a ”grand slam” breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday. Featured will be herring, eggs and meat, homefries, toast, coffee and all-you-can-eat blueberry pancakes. The cost is $6 per person; children under age 10, free. The breakfast is also free for any new member. This event is open to the public.

Power Outage Discolors Water

BPU water customers on the north side of the city may have experienced discolored water due to a brief Tuesday afternoon power interruption at the Buffalo Street pump station. Water may have been discolored until Wednesday morning.

VA Director To Talk Services

LITTLE VALLEY – Steve McCord, Cattaraugus County Veterans Services director, or Kevin Haynes, service officer, will be available to discuss VA benefit laws, the VA health care system or any other concerns throughout the county. They will be available at the American Legion in Gowanda on Feb. 7 from 10 a.m. to noon; the American Legion in Randolph on Feb. 13 from 10 a.m. to noon; The Pines in Machias on Feb. 8 from 1-4 p.m.; and the town clerk’s office in Franklinville on Feb. 19 from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
