Bemus Point Library Plans Fire Safety Night

BEMUS POINT – A house fire can strike any family at any time.

To help families prepare for the event of a fire, the Bemus Point Library is hosting family fire safety night on Thursday at 6 p.m.

According to Kathleen McCarthy, library director, winter is a season when families must be even more aware of the risks of heating a home improperly.

Family Fire Safety Night will include discussions on correct smoke detectors for houses, escape routes, safe heating and ways to help your children understand fire safety. There will be special readings to be presented to young children.

Family Fire Safety Night is a collaboration of the Bemus Point Library and the Bemus Point Volunteer Fire Department.

The event is free and open to the public, and pizza will be served during the event.
