Trenton Shutters’ empty-net goal completed a hat trick and sealed the victory as the Jamestown Lakers topped the Fredonia Steelers, 6-4, on Saturday morning in a back-and-forth game at the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena.

Cooper Spielman scored the game-winning goal with 10:48 remaining in the game off a pass from Lucian Talbett. Spielman finished with a goal and three assists for the Lakers. Chase Jones and Will Turner also scored in the win with assists going to Devin Wolfe, Josh Cooper and Turner.

Ethan Brunner, Gabe Schrader and Alex Rush each scored a first-period goal for the Steelers as they took a 3-2 lead. Zach Korzeniewski scored early in the second period, but Fredonia was shut out from there. Schrader and Rush picked up assists in the loss.

JUNIOR IRONMEN

The Junior Ironmen won in a shootout over the Erie Lions on Saturday after both teams were tied in regulation at 5-5 at the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena.

Nick Everson recorded two goals while a goal apiece went to Ben Lockwood, Will Steen and Alex MacCullum for the Ironmen.

Peyton Maxon had two assists and Steen one to support Ironmen goalie Cole Benber.

HOUSE HOCKEY

Jordan Rose scored twice and Nathan Radka got his first goal of the season as Rock Hill edged Arby’s, 3-2.

Patrick Radka ended up with two assists in the victory for goalie Andrew MacCallum.

Blade Ellis and Andrew Telford tallied for Arby’s while assists went to Ben Welker, Hunter Thorpe, Alex Kolstee and Garrett Darts.

Ben Lockwood was in goal for Arby’s.
