Fundraiser Set For Saturday
SHERMAN – A soup and salad fundraiser will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at the Sherman Fire Hall. All proceeds will be used to help pay medical bills for Fred Hamilton, a longtime official for sporting events in Chautauqua County and the Sherman area. The public is welcome to attend.
After-Prom Group To Meet Today
FALCONER – Because school was cancelled Tuesday, the Falconer After-Prom Committee will meet at 6 p.m. today in the eighth-grade project room. Many issues will be discussed. All interested parents are welcome to attend. The number of people participating will impact the type of party the group plans. Set For Today
Jefferson Middle School will host a Zumba fundraiser from 6:30-8:30 p.m. today in the school auditorium. Alana Moore and Sue Gullo, certified Zumba instructors, will lead the workout. The cost is $7 with all proceeds benefiting the Jefferson Student Activity Fund. Anyone participating should dress comfortably and wear athletic shoes. Participants must be over 14 years old to attend.
To Host Event
The Singles Group at Christ First United Methodist Church, 663 Lakeview Ave., Jamestown, will host a singles ground hog party at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, in Darrah Hall. Featured will be a cooking and sampling contest. Entries are to be made from ground pork, pork sausage or ham, and will be judged on presentation, palatability and “porkiness.” Prizes will be awarded. For those who do not eat pork, macaroni dishes are suggested. Prizes will also be awarded for these dishes. Beverages, dessert and table service will be provided. Ladies Retreat Set For Feb. 16
”Cozy Mountain Lodge,” a one-day ladies’ retreat, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, in the Levant Wesleyan Church. The cost is $25 and includes breakfast, lunch and all materials. Reservations are required and must be made by Feb. 3. Bible Study Event Begins Feb. 12
”The 7 Experiment – Staging Your Own Mutiny Against Excess,” a women’s Bible study, will be offered at the Levant Wesleyan Church from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., beginning Tuesday, Feb. 12. The nine-week class will be taught by Jen Hatmaker via DVD. The cost of the workbook is $12.
