CVCS Boys Even Hoops Mark At 6-6

SINCLAIRVILLE – Senior point guard Tim Bender had a fine all-around performance as Cassadaga Valley evened its record at 6-6 Wednesday night.

Bender scored 15 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and had four assists and two steals in the Cougars’ 44-36 non-league boys basketball victory over Panama (3-8).

Cody Johnson added 11 points and Randy Dalaba hauled down 14 rebounds for the Cougars.

Cassadaga Valley, in sweeping Panama, led all the way after beginning with a 25-14 halftime advantage.

Dan Odell hit 11 points and Alec Blose nine for the Panthers. Blose wound up with eight rebounds.

FERGUSON LEADS WAY

SOUTH DAYTON – Dan Ferguson’s second-half scoring was the key for Brocton.

Ferguson scored 13 of his 18 points after intermission as Brocton defeated Pine Valley (3-8), 53-41.

The Panthers were only trailing, 36-32, entering the final quarter but were outscored, 17-9, down the stretch.

Jordan Patterson added 12 points and Aaron Riforgiato nine for Brocton, which won the first time, 76-38.

Patterson and Marquis Buchanan had five assists with Buchanan also having five steals in the win.

Jake Wilcox led the Panthers with 13 points and seven rebounds while teammates Spencer Sticek had 11 points and Thomas Raiport eight.
