Lena I. Mason
RANDOLPH, N.Y. – Lena I. Mason, 87, of 40 E. Main St., Randolph Manor, Randolph, N.Y., passed away at 3:15 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, in Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk.
She was born Aug. 29, 1925. in Caneadea, N.Y., the daughter of the late Clayton and Bessie Wing Wray. She was a graduate of Wayland High School, Wayland, N.Y., and was a homemaker.
Lena was a member of the Conewango Congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and her greatest joy in life was to help people by sharing the Bible truths and teachings of Jehovah God. She also enjoyed writing poems, music, drawing, painting and planting flowers.
She is survived by two daughters; Bernice M. Will and husband, Robert, of Leon, N.Y., and Linda A. Bates and husband. David, of Randolph; a son, Victor W. Mason and wife, Kathy, of St. Paul, Minn.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four brothers: Robert Wray of Sheridan, David Wray and wife, Ruth, of Angelica, James Wray and wife, Linda, of Dewittville, and John Wray and wife, Linda, of Mt. Morris.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Mason in 1955; and two sisters: Bernice and Betty Jean.
A memorial service will be held in the Conewango Congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Saturday (Feb. 2, 2013), at 1:30 p.m. David Boughton will officiate. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in the Park Lawn Cemetery in Wesley, N.Y.
