Dinner And Movie Set For Friday

CASSADAGA – The Cassadaga Community Baptist Church, 25 Maple Ave., Cassadaga, will hold a free dinner and movie night Friday in the church fellowship hall. The dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and the movie will follow at 7 p.m. The dinner and movie are free, and are open to the public.

Food Handler Class Offered

MAYVILLE – The next Chautauqua County Certified Food Handler Class will be Monday at the Chautauqua County Office of Emergency Services, training room 1, 2 Academy St., the former Mayville Central School building. Those attending should use the rear entrance facing the parking lot next to bus garage. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. with the class held from 1-4 p.m. Pre-registration is required by calling 753-4693 to register. The cost is $35 for a for-profit business and $20 for a nonprofit organization.

Driving Course Begins Jan. 28

FREWSBURG – A five-hour pre-licensing driving course will be held at Frewsburg High School from 6-8:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 28-29. Pre-register by calling the guidance office at 569-7026 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

OSHA Training Begins Jan. 28

DUNKIRK – The Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES Adult & Community Education Division will offer Occupational Safety and Health Administration training for general industry from noon to 5 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the Central Avenue Community Learning Center in Dunkirk. Participants will learn how to identify and prevent workplace hazards, and all participants will receive a certificate of completion following the two-day training. The cost to participate is $150. The Central Avenue Community Learning Center is located at 324 Central Ave. in Dunkirk. SOUPer Bowl Event Is Sunday

SOUPer Bowl Sunday will be held at the Celoron Legion on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. In addition to live music from Razz & Friends and benefit auctions, the event will feature homemade soups from local restaurants and caterers. All proceeds from the event benefit Sharing the Gift of Health: The Capital Campaign for Our Emergency Department. Pre-sale tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. They are available in the WCA Office of Development, at the Celoron Legion or at Harley-Davidson of Jamestown. Tickets at the door will be $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12. Fire Safety Night Is Jan. 31

BEMUS POINT – The Bemus Point Library will present Family Fire Safety Night on Thursday, Jan. 31 from 6-7 p.m. Parents are invited to bring their children to learn about safety in the home. Pizza will be served. The event is co-sponsored by the Bemus Point Volunteer Fire Department. Families are asked to RSVP by Jan. 30 by calling 386-2274.
