SOUPer Bowl Returns To Celoron

CELORON?- On Sunday, the Celoron Legion, 26 Jackson Ave., and Media One Group will host the second annual SOUPer Bowl Sunday featuring homemade soups created and served by several local restaurants and caterers.

“We are excited to once again partner with the Celoron Legion and WCA Hospital to host this great event, showcase some fantastic local restaurants, and emphasize our stations’ and our community’s commitment to improving access to quality emergency care,” said Jim Yezzi, general sales manager for the Media One Group. “Media One is honored once again to be a part of such a great cause.”

Fifteen area restaurants and caterers are donating their time and talents to create homemade soups which will be sampled by all those attending who will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite. Participants include defending champion Gametime Sports Bar & Grill, featuring its chicken wing soup; House of Petillo, Cibo, The Harbor Grill, Ashville General Store, The Celoron Legion, Phil-N-Cindy’s Lunch, Sandy’s White Horse Inn, Lakewood/Celoron Moose Club, Fox Mart, Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop, The Fountain Bowl, Bob Evans, Forte, and Elegant Edibles.

“Last year, the variety and quality of soup available was absolutely amazing,” said Karl Sisson, WCA Hospital development director. “Once again, our community is proving their firm commitment to our community hospital and we invite everyone to join us for this family-friendly event.”

In addition to the soups, Souper Bowl Sunday will feature live music from Razz & Friends, and an outstanding benefit basket auction featuring items donated by local businesses.

All of the proceeds from Souper Bowl Sunday will benefit WCA Hospital by supporting Sharing the Gift of Health: The Capital Campaign for Our Emergency Department. The inaugural event raised $3,743 was raised to support the construction of WCA Hospital’s new Emergency Department, which has now opened.

Pre-sale tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 and are available at the WCA Hospital Office of Development by calling 664-8423), Celoron Legion at 483-0777 or Harley-Davidson of Jamestown at 484-0113). Tickets will also be available at the door for $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12.

For the first 300 people through the door, included in the price of each ticket is a commemorative soup mug courtesy of event sponsor Harley-Davidson of Jamestown.
