‘Disco’ Event Is Friday, Saturday
The Jamestown Community College Alumni Association will present “One Night at the Disco” on Friday and Saturday. The event, which is the organization’s 25th original, interactive mystery, begins at 7 p.m. Admission, which includes hors d’oeuvres and refreshments served throughout the evening, is $20 a person for the general public and $18 for members of the alumni association or JCC’s Faculty Student Association. Proceeds from the event support the JCC Alumni Fund, which includes four different scholarship programs, as well as special gifts to the college.
PANY SHRM To Lead Program
PANY SHRM, the local human resources chapter, will be presenting “Upcoming Affirmative Action Changes.” Natalie Trueheart, senior consultant of fair employment practices for Delphi Corp., will be presenting this program on Tuesday at 3 p.m. Learn about the pending and anticipated policy priorities, what the DOL, EEOC and NLRB are working on that will impact a broad spectrum of companies and legal changes that the White House and Congress are actively engaged in. After-Prom Group To Meet
FALCONER – The Falconer After-Prom Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the eighth grade project room. Many issues will be discussed. All interested parents are welcome to attend. The number of people participating will impact the type of party the group plans. The group will also hand out lottery tickets to sell throughout February. Legion To Hold Lunch Feb. 8
The Chautauqua County American Legion, Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the Legion will hold a lunch in the Cassadaga Memorial Post 1280 at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8. The cost is $7. Beginning at 6 p.m. a testimonial dinner honoring Tim Van Patton, department commander, Sally Johnnson and John J. Knapp Sr., detachment commander will be held in the Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Post 62, Dunkirk. Dinner will follow at 7 p.m. The cost is $25. Reservations are required for both events. Checks, made payable to Dunkirk Memorial Post 62, should be sent to Craig Sutton, 3556 Werle Road, Dunkirk, NY 14048 by Friday.
AMVETS To Hold Bake Sale
SUGAR GROVE – The Sugar Grove AMVETS Post 50 will host a bake sale beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday. All proceeds will benefit the Sugar Grove Library. Donations are appreciated and should be delivered to the post on Friday or Saturday.
Sewer Districts Comm. To Meet
CELORON – The South and Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer Districts finance committee will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the Water Pollution Control Facility in Celoron. The public is welcome to attend.
