Auditions will be held Tuesday and Wednesday of the coming week for roles in a production of the Cole Porter Musical ”Kiss Me, Kate,” which will be performed by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra on April 27.
The orchestra is seeking experienced and talented singing actors to play the roles of Lois, Bill, Gremio, Hortensio, Hattie, Paul and the two gangsters. Candidates for the auditions should send a resume to Lisa Gallo, of the orchestra’s staff, at email@example.com.

Shea’s Performing Arts Center, in Buffalo, invites you to watch the broadcast of the Oscar awards live on giant screens, while enjoying gourmet food and drinks, and while helping support the beautiful performing space.
The event will be held Feb. 24 at the Protocol Restaurant, 6766 Transit Road, in Williamsville. Suggested dress is ”black tie.” Open bar begins at 6 p.m., with dinner served at 7 p.m. Admission is $55 per person, or $100 per couple. Dinner includes wine and dessert.

American Repertory Theater of Western New York is currently performing Wayne Lemon’s play ”Jesus Hates Me,” about an eccentric Texan woman who creates a miniature golf course on which players are encouraged either to save themselves or to go to warmer climates, according to their golf strokes.

MusicalFare Theater presents a production of the musical show ”Rent,” opening Wednesday and running through March 3 in the company’s own venue, on the campus of Daemen College in Amherst.
