Esther P. Carlson

Esther P. Carlson, 86, of Pennsylvania Avenue, West, Warren, Pa.,, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Golden Living Kinzua Valley.

Mrs. Carlson was born Nov. 28, 1926, in Williamsport, Pa., the seventh child of the late Nicholas and Rosanna Hagmann Wellendorf.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, and a resident of Warren County since 1990. She was bap-tized and confirmed at Messiah Lutheran Church in South Williamsport, and was married there in 1950 to Burnell “Pete” Carlson. She graduated from Mans-field State Teachers College, and taught elementary vocal music in Allegheny County for 15 years.

She is survived by her husband, Burnell “Pete” Carlson, Warren, Pa.; two daughters: Burnetta Saulsgiver, and husband, William, Jamestown, N.Y., and Liana Reynolds, and husband, James, Allentown, Pa.; her sister, Laura Mitchell, and husband, Garrett and her twin sister, Eleanor Gore, South Williamsport, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Joseph, Roy and Frederick Wellendorf; and her sister, Inez Lindauer.

Friends will be received at the First Lutheran Church, 109 Third Ave., Warren, on Saturday, Jan. 26 for one hour prior to a memorial service to be held there at 11 a.m., with the Rev. David Blank, pastor, officiating.
