Depth Leads Jamestown To Swim Win

Depth was the difference as the host Jamestown swimmers (3-5-1) defeated Frontier (2-6), 99-84, in ECIC Division 1 action on Friday.

Jamestown recorded five wins compared to Frontier’s seven, but the depth was on its side en route to victory.

Alex Carlson was the Jamestown winner in diving with a personal best of 145.58 points while Matthew Caldwell won the 100 breaststroke with a personal best of 1:09.09 and had a personal best in placing second in the 200 individual medley.

Dan Van Nauker took the 500 freestyle for Jamestown with a personal best of 5:40.24 and Andrew Caldwell took the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.67.

The other Jamestown victory was in the 400 freestyle relay where Rishi Gupta, Allan Smith, Andrew Caldwell, and Simons.

Smith set a personal best while placing second in the 50 freestyle and Gupta also was second in the 100 with a personal best.

Carsen Terry had a personal best in the 100 freestyle, Nick D’Angelo in the 100 backstroke and Michael O’Brien in the 100 breaststroke.

Jeff Miller set personal bests in the 200 and 500 freestyles for Jamestown.
