Lictus Scores 21 To Pace Clymer Victory

NORTH COLLINS – North Collins’ Jared Keppel hit a career milestone, but it was Clymer (4-2, 8-4) that came out of Thursday’s Division 4 boys basketball game with a 58-43 win.

Keppel scored his 1,000th career point early in the first quarter in front of a packed house.

“It’s a nice accomplishment and he’s worked hard for it,” North Collins coach Rob Catalino said. “He’s done it in less than three years. He played as a sophomore and averaged 11 points per game. This year he’s averaging a little less than 27 points per game. He was our leading scorer in soccer. He’s has a cannon for an arm in baseball. He’s a real nice athlete.”

Clymer’s Dan Lictus proved he’s quite the athlete in his own right with a game-high 21 points. Jake Wiggers added seven points and 12 rebounds.

Keppel led the Eagles with 15 points, but North Collins (3-4, 6-7) had other contributors. Jake Youngman added 10 points while Jordan Keough and Jaden Keough combined for another 15.
