Arena Show To Air Sunday
The Progressive Skating and Gymnastics Spectacular, which was held at Jamestown Savings Bank Arena in December, will air Sunday from 4-6 p.m. on NBC.
Driver Seminar Is Saturday
LAKEWOOD – The five-hour pre-licensing and the Defensive Driving seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 pm. on Saturday in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 35 W. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood. There is limited seating per the Department of Motor Vehicles guidelines. Seating availability is first-come, first-served. The cost is $25 when pre-registering online at DriverTrainingLLC.com or by calling 777-3232. Senior citizens and AARP members receive an additional discount for the defensive driving class. The seminar is presented by Advance Driver Training staff.
Senior Report To Host Schuyler
MAYVILLE – Senior Report with Reed Powers will have Christine Schuyler as the guest on Saturday’s television program. Schuyler is the Chautauqua County commissioner of human services and commissioner of social services. The live, call-in program airs from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday morning. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions or comments. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities. Reed Powers, host of Senior Report, has been producing the television program since 1995. The series highlights senior citizen club news for 15 minutes with the remainder of the hour-long program devoted to the featured guest. The guest is subject to change. Senior Report is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Falconer, Forestville, Hanover, Irving, Jamestown, Lakewood and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.
Library To Host Book Sale
LITTLE VALLEY – The Memorial Library of Little Valley will host a book sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, with a bag sale starting at 1 p.m. Donations of adult and children’s books, DVDs, CDs and videos will be accepted through Friday. Please do not bring in encyclopedias dated before 2000 or Reader’s Digest condensed books. For more information, call the library at 938-6301. Normal hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday; 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday; and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. The library is closed Wednesday, Sunday and all legal holidays.
