Harmony Seniors Hold Monthly Meeting

PANAMA – The Harmony Senior Citizens gathered recently for their monthly meeting at Panama United Methodist Church.

Rose Logue, president, welcomed everyone and Pauline Edsel read “Recipe for a Happy New Year,” led the flag salute and asked the blessing for the meal.

Sally Hagg, Ellen Caffaro, Wendy Raynor, Beverly Smith, Dottie Enlow and Rose Logue served pizzas and brownie sundaes.

Minutes and the treasurer’s report were read and approved.

January birthdays were celebrated by Liviona Damcott, Don Garfield, Jean Hanson, Betty Johnson, Doris Rendell and Blanch Tracey.

Dottie Enlow gave a trip report for the upcoming year. The Washington, D.C., trip is scheduled for June 14-17. See Mrs. Enlow to sign up.

Wendy Raynor gave a report on the shut-ins and those under the weather.

Pennies for Paws were turned in, and donations will continue to be collected for this monthly throughout the year.

Jokes were read by Beverly Smith and Rose Logue.

Pig and Poke was won by Sally Hagg. Joan Fisher won a gift certificate to Rowdy Rooster, and many other gifts were given out.

The next meeting will be at noon Feb. 7. Anyone attending should bring a dish to pass and their own table service as the group celebrates Valentine’s Day. Committee members are: Ellen and Melvin Lord, Cora and Bob Delahoy and Ruth Smouse.
