Sheriff’s Office Investigating Recent Break-Ins
MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office on Monday said it is investigating several vehicle break-ins that have occurred in the towns of Pomfret and Portland.
In a news release, the Sheriff’s Office said it has received reports of several break-ins in the last week, with suspects taking loose change, CD players and GPS units. Police say anything of value is being taken during the larcenies.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspects may be using bicycles to get around after the break-ins, which police say are occurring late at night.
The Sheriff’s Office is looking for anyone with knowledge of the larcenies. Those with information can call 753-4925 or 753-4907. A WeTip reward also is being offered for information that may result in an arrest.
