Virginia “Jean” Mildred Curtis Coughlin, age 95, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at her daughter’s home in Warren, Pa. She lived the last five years of her life in the homes of her two daughters.
She was born in Newark, N.J., on Oct. 11, 1917, a daughter of the late Harold I. Curtis and Florence Schultz. When she was 5 years old, her mother died in childbirth. In 1977, Jean and Tom moved to Jamestown, N.Y., to be closer to their daughter. They welcomed the first of five grandchildren in 1978.
