SW/MG Falls To Depew, Tops Akron

Southwestern/Maple Grove compiled a recent 1-1 hockey record in the Western New York Club League.

On Friday, Southwestern/Maple Grove dropped a 7-5 decision to Depew and on Saturday it pounded Akron, 9-1.

Alex Carlson had two goals and an assist while Andrew Farnham, Ryan Schutte and Gram Josephson added a goal for Southwestern/Maple Grove against Depew.

Elizabeth Gerace and Branden Decker delivered assists with Noah Weinstein and Ben Richard shared the goal tending duties.

Alex Carlson scored three more goals to give him five for two games in the rout of Akron on Saturday.

Tyler Bell scored the first two goals of his high school career with Zach Hammond also tallying his first goal.

Others goal were by Farnham, Elizabeth Gerace and Decker with Farnham having three assists.

Curtis Carlson also had three assists and Schutte two while Joey Gerace, Elizabeth Gerace, Tyler Chase, Thomas Sirianno, Bryce Moyer, Ben Richard and Decker had one each.

Richard was in the net for Southwestern/Maple Grove.
