Reed Pours In School-Record 42 Points In Sherman Win

NORTH COLLINS – Elle Reed’s highlight-reel season continued on Friday night.

The senior point guard poured in a school-record 42 points, connecting on a school-record 10 3-pointers, to lead the Sherman Lady Wildcats to an 80-12 Division 4 basketball victory over North Collins.

Sitting out the fourth quarter, Reed still managed to break the school scoring record of 38 points, which she set against Maple Grove last month. She also erased the school mark for treys in a game, which was previously held by Kaylyn Zemcik who had eight in the 2010-2011 season. As a team, Sherman connected on 13 3-pointers, which also set a school record.

All told, Reed connected on 14-of-21 shots from the field, including 10-of-15 from the arc, to go along with seven rebounds and eight steals. Bridget Yaw chipped in with 19 points and Danielle Reed had eight points and eight rebounds.

The victory raised the Lady Wildcats’ record to 10-0 overall and 5-0 in the division, while North Collins fell to 2-8 and 1-4.
