Raiders Claim Numerous Personal Bests

WILLIAMSVILLE – Jamestown didn’t have any double winners, but the Red Raiders had six first-place finishes with several personal bests in ECIC Division 1 boys swimming on Friday night.

The Red Raiders (2-4-1, 2-5-1) were defeated by Williamsville East (6-1, 8-1), 104-77.

Alex Carlson of Jamestown won the diving competition with a personal-best 143.80 points and Chris Bradshaw was second with a personal best of 112.7 points.

Rishi Gupta of Jamestown captured the 100 freestyle with a personal best of 55:12 and was third in the 200 freestyle with a personal best of 2:05.34.

Also for Jamestown, Matt Caldwell took first in the 200 individual medley with a personal best of 2:13.52 and placed third in the 100 breaststroke with a personal best of 1:09.67.

Dan Vannauker of Jamestown claimed first in the 500 freestyle with a 5:40.48 and teammate Charlie Simons was third with a personal best of 5:48. Vannauker needs a 5:40 to qualify for the Section 6 Class AA meet.

Andrew Caldwell won the 100 backstroke in 1:02.23 and Allan Smith the 200 freestyle in 1:59.01 for Jamestown.
