Bemus Point Board To Meet

The Bemus Point Central School Board of Education will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Maple Grove Junior-Senior High School cafeteria. The public is welcome to attend.

Soup Donations Being Made

Bob Evans, 2798 N. Main St., Jamestown, will be donating a quart of soup to St. Susan’s soup kitchen for every 10 quarts of soup sold at the restaurant through Sunday. The restaurant is open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Bible Study To Begin Jan. 28

LAKEWOOD – The Bible study ”Just For Women” will be held from 6-8:30 p.m., beginning Monday, Jan. 28 in the Lakewood Baptist Church, 150 Erie St., Lakewood. The 11-week study will feature Beth Moore’s The Patriarchs: Encountering the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Participants will discover just how far God will go to bless His children in this study of the Old Testament pages of the Word of God. The cost of the workbook is $18 and pre-registration must be made. Blood Drives Scheduled

The Southwestern New York Chapter of the American Red Cross will host several blood drives in January as part of National Blood Donor Month. Drives include: noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday at First United Church, Silver Creek; noon to 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at Blessed Mary Angela Roman Catholic Church, Dunkirk; noon to 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at the Chautauqua Inn and Suites, Mayville; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 29-30, in the Jamestown Community College student lounge; and 2 to 7 p.m.. Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Sheridan VFW Post.

YMCA Ballroom Classes Resume

The next session of Ballroom Dance is scheduled to begin Wednesday at the Jamestown YMCA. The winter session will run for 10 weeks and will cover a variety of dances. The class is open to all. Besides being fun, dancing is an excellent cardiovascular exercise that uses all major muscle groups. It encourages good posture and body alignment while strengthening your body’s core abdominal muscles. Participants can also expect improved flexibility and agility. Loose comfortable clothing and smooth soled shoes are recommended attire for ballroom dance. Partners are not mandatory. Space is limited and advance registration is required by Jan. 15. Falconer Football Coaches To Meet

FALCONER -A coaches meeting for the Falconer Junior Falcons youth football program will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Falconer Moose Lodge. According to the league by-laws, football and cheerleading coaches must coach for the team in their hometown, so only Falconer Central School district residents are eligible to coach the Falconer teams.

Soil Board To Meet Thursday

The Chautauqua County Soil & Water Conservation District directors will hold their regular meeting Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at the district office, 3542 Turner Road, Jamestown.
