Area Police Reports


Juan G. Rivera, 28, of Clinton St., Westfield, was charged with violation of drug court contact. Police on Tuesday assisted with the probation department with a warrant check for Rivera. He was taken into custody on an active bench warrant for the violation of a drug court contact out of the city of Dunkirk. Rivera was turned over to Dunkirk police to answer the warrant.


JAMESTOWN – Nathaniel H. Banks, 26, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated, blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to yield right of way at a stop sign. Deputies on Wednesday at 11:16 p.m. observed a vehicle enter onto Route 60 without stopping and yielding the right of way at a stop sign. After stopping the vehicle, Banks was arrested for DWI. Investigation found his driver’s license was suspended. Banks was processed and released to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.


JAMESTOWN – On Jan. 10 at approximately 5:50 a.m., New York State Troopers from the Fredonia barracks took Francis J. Kujawa, of Columbia Avenue, Jamestown, into custody for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unlawful possession of marijuana, following a traffic stop on Route 60 in the town of Pomfret. A Department of Motor Vehicles check revealed Kujawa’s license to be suspended for insurance lapse. A vehicle search revealed Kujawa to be in possession of a glass smoking pipe containing burnt marijuana residue. Kujawa will answer the charges at a later date.

FREWSBURG – On Jan. 8, state police took Gregory Luppert, 50, of South Valley, into custody for felony driving while intoxicated. Lippert was pulled over on Frew Run Road in Frewsburg for a traffic violation and was found to be intoxicated. He was transported to the New York State Police barracks in Jamestown where he refused to provide a breath sample. A check of Lippert’s driving record revealed he had been convicted of DWI within the last 10 years, therefore the charge was upgraded to a felony. Lippert was then processed, arraigned in the Town of Carroll Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.


Michael R. Degolier, 27, of South Work Street, Falconer, was charged with forcible touching, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful imprisonment. Police on Dec. 31 were contacted by a female victim of a domestic incident that occurred in Falconer. The victim said she went to her ex-boyfriend’s apartment to pick up their 11-month-old baby. Degolier then placed the baby in another room of the apartment and forced the victim onto the couch and forcibly touched her. When the victim attempted to leave, Degolier restrained her on the couch, preventing her from leaving on her own free will. Degolier was picked up at a later time on a warrant and was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.

Angela L. Person, of North Dow Street, Falconer, was issued appearance tickets for taking $38.40 worth of merchandise from a Dollar General without paying. Person will be in Town of Ellicott Court at a later date.

Ronald C. Greene, 22, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment. Police on Dec. 29 took Greene into custody after a domestic dispute, during which Greene had a physical altercation and threw a television, nearly striking a child. He was arraigned and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.
