4-H Benefit Dinner Set For Feb. 17
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County’s 4-H Program will hold its second annual benefit dinner on Sunday, Feb. 17.
4-H is only partially funded by the Chautauqua County Legislature, shifting the burden of funding the organization to 4-H members, volunteers and the community. Robert Cross of 3 C’s Catering, a 4-H volunteer and alumni, has donated his expertise for the Have a Heart for 4-H Dinner, From Our Family to Yours dinner. Dinner will be from noon to 5 p.m. at the Gerry Rodeo Grounds and Conference Center.
Music will be provided by Dan Warren. There will also be silent and Chinese auctions during the benefit. In 2012, more than 150 prizes were given away.
Pre-sale benefit buffet dinner tickets are on sale until Feb. 16. The pre-sale cost is $15 a dinner. Children 5 and under are free. Tickets at the door will cost $20. 4-H officials report 1,000 dinners will be sold.
The Chautauqua County 4-H is asking for monetary and food donations, for the dinner and giveaway items. For more information, call the 4-H Office at Cornell Cooperative Extension at 664-9502, ext. 214. Chautauqua County 4-H serves more than 500 youth with the assistance of more than 150 volunteers.
