Rawlinson To Appear On Show

MAYVILLE – Senior Report with Reed Powers will have John Rawlinson as the guest on Saturday’s television program. Rawlinson is the coordinator of the Westfield/Barcelona Chamber of Commerce. The live, call-in program airs from 9-10 a.m. Saturday. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions or comments. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities. Senior Report is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Falconer, Forestville, Hanover, Irving, Jamestown, Lakewood and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.

Ladies Auxiliary To Host Dinner

The Amvets Ladies Auxiliary 726, ILS Veterans Post, Fluvanna Avenue, will host a chicken and biscuit and beef stew dinner on Saturday from 4-7 p.m. The cost is a donation of $7 for adults and $4 for children. Children under age 4 can eat for free. Dessert is included. Proceeds benefit auxiliary programs for veterans and the community.

Cancer Support Group To Meet

The Breast Cancer Support Group will meet today at Friendly’s Restaurant. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. with an open discussion at 7 p.m. New patients are welcome to attend.

Frewsburg Board To Meet Thursday

FREWSBURG – The Frewsburg Central School board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the middle/high school library. The public is welcome to attend.

Part Of Route 76 To Reopen Soon

RIPLEY – The state Transportation Department has closed Route 76, between Lakeview Avenue and Route 20, in Ripley to maintain the railroad. The road is expected to reopen Thursday. A detour has been posted.

Library Board To Meet Saturday

CASSADAGA – The Mary E. Seymour Memorial Free Library trustees board will meet at noon on Saturday at the Cassadaga Country Club.

Legion To Host ID Program Event

GOWANDA – The Cattaraugus-Allegany Counties Joint Veterans Council’s VIP – Veterans ID Program will issue identification cards from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Gowanda American Legion Post 409, 100 Legion Drive, Gowanda. Any honorably discharged veteran from Cattaraugus or Allegany counties can bring their DD214 discharge to the event. The information will be recorded with the county clerk, if it hasn’t been previously recorded, and the veteran will receive a picture identification card. No card will be issued without a DD214, or a WDAGO Form 53-55 for World War II veterans. The council has also received informational packets for area businesses to offer incentives for veterans.
