Poland Seniors To Meet For Potluck Lunch
Town of Poland Seniors will meet for a potluck lunch on Jan. 16 in the Kennedy Fire Hall. Members attending should take a dish to pass and their table service. The meeting is open to all seniors. Bob and Donna Cross, Ray and Barb Wiltsie, Ben and Sharon Morey, and Fred and Nancy Shelters will be the committee.
Fifty-seven members attended a Christmas dinner, catered by 3C’s. Bonnie Piazza, Carolyn Widmark and Rose Marie Cornell were the committee. Bev Littlefield led grace, and Bob Cross called tables.
Ms. Cross called the meeting to order with a flag salute and song, accompanied on piano by Lou Ball. Reports by the secretary and treasurer were approved as read. Correspondence was read from St. Susan’s Kitchen and the Kennedy Fire Department for donations received. A donation was approved to the fire hall for use of the facility. Sally Canniff, trip chairwoman, spoke on future trips.
A moment of silence was held for victims and families of the school shooting in Connecticut.
Celebrating birthdays were Phyllis Frink, Ray Wiltsie, Norma Vine and Ethel Bastian.
Entertainment was presented by the Falconer High School Select Choir, directed by Ann Marie Mogenhan.
