Perry L. Williams

LITTLE VALLEY – Perry L. Williams, 79, of Lower Edgar Road, Little Valley, N.Y., passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at home with his family by his side.

He was born May 17, 1933, in South Valley N.Y., the son of the late Glenn L. Williams and Margaret Roylien Scobey Williams.

Perry was a 1953 graduate of Little Valley High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War era from Nov. 20, 1953, to Nov. 15, 1955.

He owned and operated a dairy farm in Little Valley for many years and retired in 1989 from Hopes Architectural Products in Falconer, N.Y., where he was a welder.

Perry enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking, as well as spending time with his family. He was a member of the Little Valley Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 8734 and attended the Napoli United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ellen Mae “Peggy” Woodin, whom he married on April 26, 1958; a son, Glenn Williams and wife Anita of Little Valley; four daughters: Lorraine Hyatt and husband Chuck of Summerville, S.C.; Rosanne Fisher and husband Scott of Conway, S.C.; Melinda Lange and husband Tony of Summerville, S.C.; and Roylien Paschen and husband Edwin of Frazesburg, Ohio; nine grandchildren: Joshua Hyatt and wife Rachel; Sara Hyatt, Britney Pope and husband Russell; Christopher Lange and wife Austin; Mykal Lange, Chelsie Sargent and husband Shaun; Devon Paschen, Nicholas and Alex Williams; two great-grandchildren: Samuel Pope and baby girl Sargent; and two sisters: Edith Linder of Alabama and June Pedacchio of Buffalo, N.Y.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Glenn and William Williams; and a sister, Joanne Richards.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thurs-day (Jan. 10, 2013) in the Napoli United Methodist Church in Napoli, N.Y. Pas-tor Rene Adams will officiate. Burial will be in the Little Valley Rural Cemetery in May with a time and date to be announced later. Visitation will not be observed.
