The Southtown Stars scored four goals during a 3:29 span and went on to beat the Jamestown Lakers 5-2 on Saturday at the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena.

Zakary Mazur and Tyler Bird each scored twice while Danny Mahany also scored for the Stars. Ryan Dennee chipped in with an assist.

Cooper Spielman tapped in a loose puck in the crease to open the third period for the Lakers, who received a late goal from Will Turner. Trenton Shutters and Spielman each had an assist in the loss.

HOUSE LEAGUE

Colin Melquist recorded the hat trick and an assist as Rock Hill Engineering beat Arby’s, 5-3, in the Chautauqua County House Hockey.

Jordan Rose and Aiden Melquist scored goals and added an assist while Zach Schweiger had two assists.

Donald Dean recorded two goals and an assist while Arby’s teammates Jonathan Syper notched a goal and Garret Darts, Blade Ellis and Kate Daugharthy picked up assists.

Nate Radka was the goalie for the winners and Al Christie for Arby’s.
