Youth Hockey


Alan Christie had a top-flight hockey performance for Arby’s in Chautauqua County House Hockey on Thursday night.

Christie scored four goals as Arby’s nipped Rock Hill Engineering, 5-4, at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena.

Jonathan Syper delivered the other Arby’s goal while Donald Dean had three assists, and Blade Ellis and Andrew Telford an assist.

Jordan Rose drilled two goals and an assist in the loss. Patrick Radka tallied once and added two assists.

Collin Melquist had a goal, Garret Darts two assists and Zach Schweiger one assist for Rock Hill.

Ben Lockwood was in goal for Arby’s and Andy MacCallum for Rock Hill.


Emma Ferrick, Anna Booth, Lauren Madden and Rebecca Rothleder recorded goals as the second-place Southern Tier Storm defeated Batavia, 4-2.

Ferrick scored unassisted at 13:58 and Booth unassisted at 9:05 of the first period. Madden tallied at 11:41 of the second and Rebecca Rothleder also tallied an unassisted goal at 2:15 in the third stanza.

The Southern Tier Storm is made up of girls from the Jamestown and Olean areas.
