Audubon Announces Birdseed Order Deadline
Jan. 11 is the last day to place a mail order for bird seed from the Audubon Center and Sanctuary and Jan. 13 is the online deadline.
Wild birds can have a difficult time finding food this time of year. Putting out a feeder and keeping it filled brightens their lives as well as their feeder’s. Audubon offers a variety of seed choices, with the most popular being its exclusively formulated Conewango Blend. Specialty seeds, cakes, and peanut butter bells are also available.
The Audubon Center and Sanctuary works to find the best birdseed mixes at affordable prices, and all proceeds benefit its programs, exhibits, buildings and grounds.
All the choices are on the order form that can be obtained by calling the Audubon Center at 569-2345 or clicking on “Mail-in Bird Seed Orders Postmark Deadline” on the home page of Audubon’s website at jamestownaudubon.org.
Orders can be mailed, phoned, faxed or sent online for pick-up on Saturday, Jan. 26, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Volunteers will load the fresh seed, direct from the supplier, right into the buyer’s trunk.
The Jamestown Audubon Center and Sanctuary is at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren.
Winter hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays and Saturdays, and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sundays. Bald Eagle viewing and trails for snowshoeing and cross country skiing are open dawn to dusk every day.
