Many Are To Thank For T.K. Ribbing’s Success
To the Readers’ Forum:
I would like to start out by saying “thank you” to The Post-Journal for the nice article on the Thanksgiving dinner that we held at T.K. Ribbing’s Family Restaurant. It is always nice to receive accolades for doing something you enjoy doing.
However this letter is written to give “thanks” to one person who, without her, none of this would have been possible That, of course, is my wife, Kay. Kay is the “heart and soul” of T.K. Ribbing’s. Her tireless energy and work ethic are the driving force behind the success of our business. She treats every guest like family, makin them feel important, special, and indeed, part of the T.K. Ribbing family. And those that know her, know that this care and concern is genuine It goes far beyond serving a meal.
And so it is at Thanksgiving time. Once again this year, Kay went above and beyond the call. Most people don’t know it, but Kay cooked all but about 20 of the over 100 turkeys that were donated and prepared. Then, together with some of the employees, cut up, bagged and froze the meat until it was time to start preparing. She also made about 150 pounds of fruit salad. Not a typical Thanksgiving dish, but that’s just Kay going the extra mile.
I could go on and on. If it was up to me, Kay would be my choice for “Business Woman of the Year.” For some reason, many people think that I am the sole owner of T.K. Ribbing’s, such as when articles are written or interviews are conducted. But this is not the case. We own the restaurant together. We are partners in business and in life. And I want to give credit where credit is due.
