Willis Earl Snell

Willis Earl Snell, 87 years old, of Kelly Hill Road in Stockton, N.Y. passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sun-day afternoon Dec. 30, 2012 at Brooks Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Willis was born in Stockton, N.Y. on July 10, 1925, the son of the late William and Mabel Blodgett Snell. He lived in the Stockton area all of his life. Willis had been a self-employed dairy farmer in Stockton his entire life and was currently retired. He also was employed for many years as a custodian for the Brocton Central School District. He was a member of the Stockton Community Church and a member of the Stockton Grange and Farm Bureau. Among the many things that Willis thoroughly enjoyed was cutting timber, reading and baking.

He is survived by two sons, William (Afraula) Snell of Fredonia, N.Y. and David (Kay) Snell Of Stockton, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren: Victoria Snell, William Snell, Jessi-ca Snell, Erika Snell, Annetta Snell, Lydia Snell, Hosanna Snell, Joanna Snell, Joshua Snell and Katrina Snell. He is also survived by two sisters, Olive (William) Donaldson of South Stockton, N.Y. and Janice (Larry) Carlson of Cassadaga, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his loving wife, Irene Tanner Snell whom he married in August of 1959 and who passed away in 1985.

Funeral services will be held on Friday morning Jan. 4, 2013 at 10 a.m. from the Stockton Community Church with the Rev. Richard Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at the Stockton Greenwood Cemetery. Friends are invit-ed to call at the Morse Fun-eral Home, 51 Highland Ave., Brocton, N.Y. on Thursday Jan. 3, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. The family gra-tiously suggests donations may be made to the Stock-ton Community Church, 10 West Railroad Ave., Stockton, NY 14784.
